ABOUT THE WALKER AREA FOUNDATION

The Walker Area Foundation (WAF) is a charity developed to enhance the quality of life in the Greater Walker Area. As a public charity, Walker Area Foundation operates under section 501(c)(3) in the IRS code. The Foundation was formed in 2003, and its Board of Directors serves the community without compensation. The Foundation is a tax-exempt public charity that raises community awareness, with the common goal of improving the quality of life for all who live here.

The WAF serves as a vehicle for individuals, families, businesses and organizations that want to create permanent charitable funds to help the area address the challenges of changing times. The Foundation endeavors to identify community needs and help by supplementing a community’s own resources. It serves as a single organization that donors can rely on, one that has the diverse interests of the community in mind.

The Foundation provides a flexible vehicle through which donors may create their own permanent charitable funds that will function for decades to come. The Foundation helps donors with the paperwork needed to accomplish their goals, while making this as easy as possible. Anyone interested in becoming a tax-deductible donor is encouraged to contact any WAF Board member to arrange a confidential meeting.
