Welcome Friends of Walker City Park!

What is your favorite part of Walker? For one group, it’s the Walker City Park. Formally organized in October 2015, the Friends of the Walker City Park is committed to supporting the Walker Park Advisory Board by promoting, enhancing and maintaining community support for the park through activities, fundraising, and volunteer efforts.

SPRING 2017 UPDATE
Legacy Pathway Installation Update:
The final brick order has been placed and as soon as the bricks are delivered, the Legacy pathway will be installed! Thank you again, Dan Dormanen, of The Piggy BBQ, for donating ALL of your time to install the pathway.

The Walker City Council approved a 25’ x 25’ paver patio to be installed at the end of the pathway. The patio will paid for by the Walker City Park capital improvement funds, which will be the perfect spot to place the 4 picnic tables donated by Rotary. The Rotary benches are on their way as well. Thank you Rotary

It’s all coming together and we can’t thank the community enough! The Friends of Walker City Park are pumped to see so many kids of all ages using the new playground. Enjoy!!!

We're not accepting brick orders at this time. Please email us for other ways to donate to our awesome city park!

Friends of Walker City Park and the City of Walker would like to THANK
All who donated to Phase #1 - The New Playground

So many generous people and businesses donated over $66,000 to the Friends of the Walker City Park. We are so excited that the new playground equipment is installed and thrilled to see the many, many kids there every day! That’s what it’s all about – a safe, fun, place for our kids to enjoy, connect with others, and get outside

The volunteer install went smoothly and quickly, plus it saved us nearly $17,000. Thank you to all of those you volunteered time, equipment, etc. You all rock!

A Huge Thank you to Chris Johnsen at St Croix Recreation Company. We couldn’t be happier with the equipment and all that you did to make it all happen.

The Legacy Pathway Installation Is set for Spring 2017. Dan Dormanen has volunteered his labor to install the Legacy Pathway. The designing process is underway and will be a beautiful addition.

Please watch for the New Playground “Ribbon Cutting Ceremony” in the spring 2017 to celebrate the new playground, pathway, and share plans for the next project. As new developments happen, visit www.facebook.com/walkerfop or this website for details. Feel free to email the group at fopwalker@gmail.com.
